Another Helping From the Big Red Pot

This past weekend, I took time to make a pot of chili for one of my friends.  I love the smell of soup simmering slowly on the stove.

So many cans

Texas tomatoes

Add beef

Stir

Spring has sprung . . . perhaps

In Colorado, appearances can be, and often are, deceiving.  The buds burst forth and the snow flies.  Stay tuned . . .

Sweet Dreams

For some time now, I have been a fan of Sweet Dream in a Bag, a Littleton non-profit ministry that provides children living in transitional housing with bedding and a blessing.  They gift youngsters with a new sheet set, comforter, fleece blanket, pillow, stuffed animal and personalized book.

Today, I had the opportunity to participate in the organization's monthly Pack and Pray event where volunteers of all ages assemble the bags of bedding, eat yummy food, and hear stories about the children.  April's Pack and Pray coincided with a service day sponsored by Denver Seminary, where I attend classes.

Here is a picture of one of the stained glass windows in the historic chapel at my church in Boulder.

Veggie Tales - Culinary Edition

Because I have no papers due this coming week and I finished my laundry last night, I will chop up some of these veggies from Door to Door Organics and make a pot of soup.
