I'm a big kitty now.

When Ebenezer landed in my lap the first week of May, he was little more than a ball of fluff.  Look at him now!  I'm going to have to put collars back on Isabelle and Ebenezer so I can tell them apart.  Isabelle has green eyes while Ebenezer's are gold; but, their coat(s) and musculature are nearly identical.  When they are tearing through the house at the speed of sound, it is becoming increasingly difficult to tell them apart.

Mr. Tomato

If you look closely at the picture of the tomato below, you will notice puncture marks.  I'm sure E did this.  Isabelle is far from perfect; but, she scoots water bottle caps, pony tail rubber bands and credit cards across the kitchen floor.  Ebenezer, on the other hand, sinks his teeth into toes, potatoes, and tomatoes.

When Life Gives You Lemons

I received five large lemons in my most recent Door to Door Organics box.  Ordinarily, I put lemons down the garbage disposal to keep it smelling nice.  Five lemons is a lot of lemons, so I decided to make homemade lemonade.  Have you ever used a manual lemon juicer?  It's not easy - even when you have large hands and significant forearm strength.  Then there's the sugar syrup.  Did the lemonade taste good?  Absolutely!  Would I suggest you make lemonade?  Only if you have a lot of lemons and a lot of free time.

Naughty Boy

Twice today, Ebenezer has pulled the cat carrier off the top shelf in the utility room and climbed into it.  At this point - nearly 11:30 pm - I am not about to hoist it back up there.  I've moved said carrier into the dining area in hopes that E will become tired of it - and leave it on the shelf where it belongs.

Taking a Step Back in Time

Several days ago, I caught this picture of Ebenezer rooting around inthe bottom drawer of my dresser.  As sometimes happens (especially with a black cat and an auto-focus digital camera), E is a bit fuzzy but the box which contains my baby shoes - that also were my dad's baby shoes - is pretty clear.

Biscuits Anyone?

Earlier today, I made Cheddar Cheese Biscuits because I had cheese, buttermilk, and Crisco that I wanted to use up.  They turned out great; but, I'm not sure why the people on the recipe website raved so much.  It's a BISCUIT.  Anyhow, I'd never used a biscuit gadget or baked with shortening before.

Dusty Sunflowers, Yum Yum

Ebenezer - my sweet kitten - has returned home from the vet.  His neuter surgery - which I'm sure my vet does multiple times a week - was successful.  Within minutes of arriving home, he had climbed into the kitchen trash to retrieve Chic Fil A scraps and tipped over the dusty, silk sunflowers that are perched on the corner of my kitchen counter.  And this is while he's on pain meds!

Listen Here Little Brother

Listen here little brother . . . you better stop biting my tail.  I am bigger than you and I can make your life really miserable.
