I took the these pictures of a large tree adjacent to the mailbox over the past week or so. This morning, I was disappointed to find that the nearly-burst blooms are now more white than pink. This is the only time of year that the Colorado landscape is close to verdant.

Chowder
Yesterday, I took a big risk and made clam chowder. Because Colorado is so far from the ocean and I live so far from Whole Foods, I used canned clams. Believe it or not, the cats weren't terribly interested in either the five cans of clams sitting on the counter or the soup simmering on the stove.
These cheap clams weren't cheap.
Where's the tuna?
Yum

Believe
The past few weeks, I have had the opportunity to assist the Fourth Grade Sunday School class in learning the Apostles' Creed. With the exception of programs such as Awana, it seems that children's ministry is de-emphasizing topics like theology and scripture memory. It is indeed possible to teach these truths in a way that is edifying, enjoyable, and builds relationships.
This glue is really sticky.
I believe.
No glue here

Opening My Home . . .
Isabelle, my older cat, climbed under the covers early, early this morning. She snuggled up against me and began to purr. In many ways, Issie is a lot like me. She sometimes gets nervous when Ebenezer gets close to her. At times, she runs when I attempt to pick her up. Recently, I have noticed that Issie is beginning to get more comfortable with Ebenezer, who is over the top exuberant.
When I purchased my condo and moved down here to begin Seminary, I thought I'd host a Bible Study or small group. Open my home to two homeless cats? That wasn't part of the plan. Issie, as some of you know, belonged to a former room mate and Ebenezer came from a homeless man standing outside of Starbuck's. I would not - in a million years - have predicted that I would become a kitty mama.

Hide N Seek
These pictures of Isabelle and Ebenezer playing hide and seek beneath my blue desk chair remind me of two children frolicking beneath a dining room table covered with an old blanket.
