Many of you know that, two years ago, I got Ebenezer from a Denver Seminary student who worked part-time in the Admissions Office. He got Ebenezer, whose name means 'stone of hope' in Hebrew and also figures prominently in the hymn Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing, from a homeless man standing in front of Starbucks.
E was so small and fluffy when I first got him. His first litter box was a small plastic shoebox, similar to the ones in which I store cardmaking supplies. His eyes were grey when he first arrived, then they turned green. Now they are gold. Ebenezer tips the scales at 13 pounds, whereas Isabelle weighs about six and one half pounds. He's one big boy!
Adopting Ebenezer two years ago, and Isabelle three years before that, has been a real game changer for me. I know this sounds funny to some, but the only things I've loved more than my cats are God, Jesus, and my paternal grandfather.
That Was Then
This is Now
